One of the ongoing goals in Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI) is to better clarify and define the various self-defeating patterns of behavior that troubled students use during their crisis. As we become more specific in our diagnosis, we also can become more comfortable and precise in selecting appropriate short-term and long- term strategies to support these students. This article describes a life space crisis intervention with Leroy, a second-grader from a threatening home environment.
