Collaborating with school officials, a group of concerned parents implemented a bully-proofing program throughout their school district. After 2 years, the results are encouraging. The program was received with much enthusiasm at the elementary level. Further study will be needed to determine how these principles might be applied at the secondary level, where the focus is on containment of disruptive behavior. Significantly, the bully-proofing program has served as a catalyst for other initiatives aimed at enhancing school climate.
