Increasingly, schools and community recreation centers are developing structured programs for the critical after-school hours when many children are unsupervised. Most such programs have relied on activities such as supervised tutoring and athletics. This article describes a club program that provides a challenging alternative by involving youth in researching intriguing questions about human behavior, including how we influence one another. This interpersonal knowledge can be particularly valuable for children with emotional and behavior problems.
